The 330e
This iconic sedan for 2021 has electrified enhancements that reap countless benefits. This particular plug-in hybrid is presented with a powerful combustion engine that works alongside an electric motor to achieve top efficiency when driving and an all-out spectacular performance.
The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor and battery produces a total system output of 288 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque with XtraBoost, eight-speed automatic transmission rear 330e or all-wheel-drive (330e xDrive). The estimated all-electric driving with the 330e is 22 miles. Efficiency is a maximum estimated 75 mpg-e rating, and pricing starts at approximately $45,000 for the rear-wheel-drive 330e.
The 530e
A plug-in hybrid version of the 5 Series sedan, the 530e combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four with an electric motor and is presented in rear-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. The 530e stands out due to a subtle blue exterior as well as its charging port, which is located under a flap on the left front fender.
Standard on the 530e is a 12.3-inch infotainment screen which can be operated via iDrive click-wheel or touch. In addition to the standard Comfort, Sport and Eco drive modes, the 530e boasts three additional modes including Auto eDrive, Max eDrive and Battery Control. In 2021, power is found with an increase from 248 horsepower to 288 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque combined. Recharging takes 7 hours using a standard 120v household outlet.
The 745e
Considered leading-edge when it comes to luxury, the 745e Plug-In Hybrid presents both an exceptional and powerful ride. Powered by a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder combustion engine and an integrated electric motor, the 745e offers the luxury of BMW’s famous sedan. A mammoth new twin-kidney grille and reworked styling marks the 745e and inside is a spacious and luxurious cabin with plenty of tech. Handling is nimble and the 7 Series’ higher-powered engine offerings make it surprisingly quick.
Presented with all-wheel-drive, the 745e offers an 8-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, 4-wheel antilock brakes, an integrated navigation system and plenty of safety features. Pricing for this model starts at about $96,895.
The X3 xDrive30e
A dynamic Sports Activity Vehicle, the X3 Plug-In Hybrid takes efficiency to a whole new level. It is the first plug-in hybrid for the X3 lineup, with a battery located in front of the rear axle. That adds 17-18 miles of pure electric driving at speeds of up to 83 mph. This model has three eDrive driving modes to select from, with an automatic default to the AutoE Drive. That is where the BMW watches your own individual driving style and uses the navigation to anticipate the location you are in.
This vehicle uses a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine which is also equipped with TwinPower Turbo technology. Power is sourced through an 8-speed automatic Steptronic transmission, which works in conduction with an electric motor developing 80 kW/109 PS (107 hp).

The X5 xDrive45e
This Sport Activity Vehicle is both powerful and stylish, offering a plethora of benefits that only a plug-in hybrid can bring. Bringing with it more range and power, the xDrive45e is surely been worth the wait. It gets its power from a 3.0-liter six cylinder engine, which helps it push out a total of 389 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque between its gas engine and electric assist motor. Its driving range is about 30 miles, at which point the gas engine kicks in.
