Introducing a champion
Planned to be in all its glorious race action for the 2025 season, the GT4 has made its mark from the start. That includes more than 180 podium finishes and over 70 class victories and sprint and endurance races in 2023 alone. In a continuous development of the car by M GmbH and in close cooperation with the customer teams, the M4 GT4 EVO has gotten even better!
Those improvements have been made clear in enhanced traction control, a new front splitter with improved mounting concept, greater robustness in endurance races and new LED headlights and rear lights, plus more!
A revolution through evolution, the new BMW M4 GT4 EVO is poised to continue to conquer racetracks worldwide, with two of them being delivered at the BMW Welt. This pair, recently picked up by Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport, a Turkish racing team, are graced with a special color paying homage to Borusan Turkish Blue. This paint is available for more than 40 cars, half of which are M Performance and M models.
With this new M4 GT4 EVO, reliability and driveability improvements are surely realized. The vehicle has been formally presented at Spa-Francorchamps, following a soft launch at the Nurburgring 24 Hours last month.
Updates, which serve to build on the success and legacy of its current title, makes it even more of a standout than ever before.
“In developing the BMW M4 GT4 EVO, we focused on what makes BMW M Motorsport stand out,” Bjorn Lellmann, the head of customer racing at BMW M Motorsport, said. “We took the feedback from the field seriously and focused on the issues that were important to our customers – to make the ‘perfect’ customer racing car even better.”
These changes, made following consultation with its current crop of customer teams, are worth noting. For example, the front splitter has been revised to improve long-term durability, and the entire attachment concept has been overhauled. This has been done to ensure that the entire
front end is much more maintenance-friendly. Reinforced wheel bearings on the rear axle and new front flicks also serve to increase durability.
In other changes and enhancements, drivers now have the option to temporarily deactivate the traction control through a button on the steering wheel. This serves as another tool for drivers looking to optimize lap times. This also represents another sought-after change being requested by the customer base.
The M4 GT4 EVO will share its styling with the road-going model and BMW’s flagship GT3 model. It also adopts the LCI update of the BMW M road vehicles and is also presented with new front and rear headlights.
BMW works driver Jens Klingmann shared: “We look back with pride on the first two years of the BMW M4 GT4, which has won races and titles from the start – and in the hands of many different teams around the world.”
“We have an excellent base, but there is always room to make a good car even better,” he continued. “We have succeeded in doing this with the BMW M4 GT4 EVO, in my view. Durability and drivability are noticeably optimised by the new splitter and by an even more finely adjustable traction control.”
In terms of cost, the new M4 GT4 EVO complete package is 219,000 euros net. The individual cost for the EVO package for current M4 GT4 customers who wish to update their current car is 16,000 euros net.
In order to be prepared for the first race in 2025, during the fourth quarter of 2024, both the complete packages and the individual EVO kits will be delivered to customer teams.
