The changes!
Making clear its path as an off-road performer, the X5’s 14.9-inch touchscreen now hosts an xOffroad View for when things get tough enough! This provides the driver not only with relevant information as to what is going on around the vehicle, but it shows the inclination or downhill gradient of the terrain. It also serves to detail the ground clearance and roll tendency to help the driver out of a sticky situation.
The xOffroad Package is standard, and allows the driver to adjust the vehicle’s settings depending on the terrain. “The package is not offered on any other current BMW X model and augments the X5 Silver Anniversary Edition’s off-road capability by adjusting the vehicle’s settings depending on the terrain,” BMW says.
A new paint color – specifically an Individual Lime Rock Grey metallic – is also presented, as are all-terrain tires with 20-inch wheels borrowed from the M Sport Package. Extended Shadowline dark accents are featured with the carbon fiber trim taken straight out of an X5 M60i or an X5 M and among the mix of equipment from several packages offered here and not normally presented together. There are also unique front and rear bumpers and rocker panels. Aluminum-accented pieces from the Sport Design are a;sp presented and which highlight this model’s off-road intentions. The Extended Shadowline Trim, usually reserved for X5s equipped with the M Sport and M Sport Professional packages, darken most of the bright work.
Special Silver Anniversary Edition badging is located at the tailgate.
In the area of power and based on the 2025 xDrive 40i, the Silver Anniversary Edition uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine to make 375 horsepower with power going through an 8-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels.
Within the luxurious cabin are seats wrapped around in black, coffee, cognac or Silverstone Sensafin upholstery, which is vegan upholstery that mimics real leather. There is also a head-up display, a Harman Kardon surround sound system, remote engine start and a Parking Assistance package.
Heated front seats, armrests and steering wheel are also standard. A new switch on the center console allows drivers to toggle between xSnow, xSand, xGravel and xRocks modes, each bringing a subset of parameters for the traction control, transmission shifts, accelerator pedal, ride height and more.
About 1,000 examples of this model will be built in South Carolina, and carry a price tag of just over $81,000 each, including destination charges. Production will begin in August, just shy of the X5’s 25th anniversary.
