A closer look!
From the front, the M3 sets itself apart, with illuminated details in the kidney grille and headlights, both of which hint at BMW’s futuristic “phygital” styling. Add to that a sharp side profile that sticks closely to the concept’s three-box sedan shape as well as flared fenders and wide wheel arches, and there’s no doubt about it, you are in the presence of “M.”
At rear, a large trunk lid and upright design are evident, both of which pay homage to the Neue Klasse’s minimalist approach. There are also touches for those who love a sporty appearance, including the wide tires and aerodynamic tweaks, which also speak to the vehicle’s high-performance potential. Also worth noting are pop–up door handles and large wheels.
When it comes to the new M3’s power, there is much to celebrate. Codenamed ZA0, the M3 Electric is being developed on the automaker’s Neue Klasse platform, which it will share with the i3 sedan which premieres in 2026.
Scheduled for release in 2027 and as an all-wheel-drive sports sedan, the M3 Electric will have an impressive starting output of around 700 horsepower, with the vehicle exemplifying a perfect balance between driving dynamics and power.
The M3 and its new platform will feature BMW’s cutting-edge Heart of Joy supercomputer, which perfectly integrates the car’s advanced driving dynamics and all-wheel-drive system, with these technologies designed to give drivers and passengers alike precise handling and control.
For the purists among us, BMW M will not ignore, with a combustion-powered model, codenamed G84, planned to arrive sometime after 2027. It will build upon the current G80 generation, sitting on the same CLAR platform and using a 3.0 liter six-cylinder engine.
Meanwhile, BMW M plans to offer a wide range of electric performance models, beginning with the M3 and M4 EVs under ZA0 and ZA2 project codes. Other vehicles, including the iX3 M SUV, are poised to arrive as early as next year, and will showcase an even broader push toward an electric future.
The need for the all-new M3 is both evident and imminent, with the electric i4 filling that void for some time though.
With its wide stance and power via four independent electric monitors, the M3 EV is aggressive in both look and feel.
Set to arrive as a 2026 model, the M3’s details are forthcoming as that date approaches, especially those related to the two new M3 variants.
Boasting a distinct onroad appearance with plenty of M touches, coupled with all-out electric power, this new M3 is all things exciting. Just one look is all it took! Keep your eye out for its launch!
