Ohio is a state that likes its cars, and it celebrates the fact. If you like to check out antique cars, custom-built, racers, and contests, here are a few choices. When the car shows appear, there are usually festivals and other fun activities around them. Most of them are events the entire family will enjoy.

Akron, Ohio

The First Annual Charity Car Show at Craftsman Park in Akron takes place on Saturday, July 9, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The proceeds will benefit the Craftsmen Park Relief Fund. Get there early for the pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. A $10 entry fee gets you free spectator admission. Enjoy door prizes and raffles, a DJ with music for all ages, and trophies and dash plaques.

 

Greenfield, Ohio

The 49th Annual Car and Truck Show happens on July 16, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the Greenfield Rotary Club’s Greene County Town Festival. There will be a car and truck show, along with cars for sale. A unique auto and truck show parade will take place through town. Other activities include a flea market, live entertainment, great food, crafts, games, and rides.

Canfield, Ohio

The area’s oldest meet, sponsored by Dave & Ed’s Super Auto Events, takes place at Canfield Mahoning County Fairgrounds on July 22, 2016, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dash plaques and goodie baggies will be awarded. This event is family friendly. Rodders, Classics, Antiques, Swap Meet, and Car Corral included in this Sunday-only car show. Vendors on site sell car items, parts, leather goods, sunglasses, T-shirts, and much more.

Strongsville, Ohio

The Northern Regional Chevelle Show takes place from Aug. 5 to Aug. 6, 2016, in Strongsville, Ohio. The site is at the Strongsville Holiday Inn. Celebrate the best Chevelles you can see in the country. Drawn from 20 different states and Canada, the theme this year is Cowboys and Indians.

Athens, Ohio

On Aug. 11 to Aug. 13, 2016, celebrate the King Midget Jamboree in Athens, Ohio. This 70th-anniversary event and 26th King Midget Jamboree takes place at Market Mall. Enjoy the All the Kings Mall Exhibit, 100 Mile per Gallon challenge, the grand opening of the King Midget archives in the Ohio University Alden Library, and much more.

Dublin, Ohio

Join in the 32nd Anniversary All Pontiac Indian Uprising on Aug. 21, 2016, at 8 a.m., at Crowne Plaza, rain or shine. Hosted by the GTO Association of Central Ohio. With 13 classes, this all-Pontiac show begins judging at noon. Also, join in the fun on Saturday night, Aug. 20, for an all makes cruise-in.
