What we know!

First on sale in 2019, the X7 for 2025 is all things lavish and powerful! From its interior and standard air-ride suspension, to its vast list of standard equipment that expertly fulfills the needs of many, this model excels over its competition.

New for the model year is an available Driving Assistance Professional Package, which allows the benefit of hands-free driving at speeds up to 85 mph when conditions permit and which is upgraded with new eye-activated lane change functionality. Just by looking in the corresponding rear-view mirror, the driver is able to authorize the action – how amazing is that!?

In the area of price, the X7 begins at $84,675 and goes up to $153,395, depending on the trim and options. At the base level, the X7 performs more than admirably, and features a wide array of standard features. Those include four-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable front seats with memory settings, heated front seats, a power tailgate and more.

Under hood, the entry-level X7 xDrive40i is powered by a 375-hp turbocharged inline-six-cylinder with the M60i featuring a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 which makes 630 ponies. All three engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, with every X7 riding on an air suspension with adaptive dampers. A chassis can be further enhanced with the available rear-axle steering and active anti-roll bars that reduce body roll in corners. Both of these features are standard on the M60i.

With accurate steering that is nicely weighted, the X7 also features wheels that are 21 inches in diameter at their smallest, but with BMW offering 23 inch wheels for the first time, taking the ride quality to all-new levels.

In testing, the xDrive40i jumped to 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds, and the V-8 powered M60i in 3.8.

The X7 also boasts overall efficiency, earning EPA ratings of 21 mph city and 25 mph highway. The V-8 is a bit thirstier, and understandably so, earning EPA ratings of 16 mph city and 21 mpg highway.

Within, the X7 has a dashboard that is dominated by a massive digital display that is slightly curved in appearance. This panel features a 12.3-inch gauge cluster for the driver and a 14.9-inch touchscreen that the infotainment system operates through. Luxury abounds, made clear in the presence of heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a power-adjustable steering wheel and ambient interior lighting.

There is roominess in both the front and back, as well as within the cubby storage. Behind the third row, buyers will find 12.8 cubic feet of storage space, and by folding down the seats, that opens to 48.6. With the second and third row seats folded down, that number jumps to 90.4.

Techies will be thrilled with the X7’s iDrive infotainment system which operates through a 14.9-inch touchscreen that is housed in the curved glass panel atop the dash. This system can be operated by a large rotary knob on the center console as well as through gesture controls. A Wi-Fi hotspot is available through a subscription, with every X7 featuring BMW’s available Digital Key, which allows users to control vehicle functions remotely via a smartphone app. Optional features include a Harman/Kardon stereo and wireless charging.

A plethora of safety features are standard, with the X7 presented with a wide array of driver-assistance technology as well as more advanced options. Information on their crash test results can be found by visiting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Drivers of the X7 enjoy standard forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking, as well as standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. There is also standard lane-departure warning.

Competitive limited and powertrain warranty is also offered with the X7, including limited warranty that covers four years or 50,000 miles; powertrain warranty that covers four years or 50,000 miles and complimentary maintenance that is covered for three years or 36,000 miles.

A blending of comfort, fun and luxury and with three excellent engine options and good fuel economy for the class, the X7 is classy, spacious and the next best choice when it comes to your large SUV purchase. Get the total package, and reserve yours today!
