Designed exclusively for the United States and Canadian automotive markets, the M3 Jahre 50 Edition represents a posh collection to say the least. Defining body color/design! 

When it comes to exterior shades, this vehicle is all things eye-popping! Owners have the choice from among five BMW Individual exterior paint finishes for the 500 models, each of which are reminiscent of one of its five predecessors. There is bold Cinnebar Red, Fire Orange and Techno Violet, as well as the deep shades of Interlagos Blue and Limerock Grey. 

All of these body shades are combined stunningly with M forged wheels in Orbit Grey matte as well as selected BMW M Performance Parts. 

Other exterior components, which get their inspiration from racing in terms of design, are comprised of, with this anniversary edition, the BMW M Performance front splitter Carbon, the BMW M Performance rear spoiler Carbon and the BMW M Performance tailpipe trims Carbon/Titanium. The vehicle’s trunk lid spoiler is made of carbon fiber to match the carbon fiber roof. 

In paying homage to its forebears, this special edition for 2023 features Classic BMW M Motorsport logos on the hood, the trunk and the wheel center caps instead of the usual BMW roundels. The logo is comprised of staggered semi-circles in blue, navy and red, which recalls the BMW M GmbH logo of the past, specifically one used on the race cars in 1973. 

A peak inside! 

Exclusivity is certainly found on this vehicle’s interior. That begins with special “Edition 50 Jahre BMW M” lettering that appears on the door sill trims and M stripes which are positioned on the headrests of the front and outer rear seats. There is also an exclusive seam pattern that flanks both the standard M sports seats and the optionally available M carbon bucket seats of the edition vehicles. 

Inside a metal plaque on the cupholder cover also bears the inscription “M3 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M,” and the reference “1/500.” 

Drivers will be seated confidently and firmly thanks to standard M Sport seats, with the M Carbon bucket seats also available and oh so plush in Black Extended Merino leather. 

Stitching also speaks to exclusivity, with each model boasting the three colors of the M logo. 

A curved display screen is also found within, as well as the eighth generation of BMW iDrive. This neat setup is a combination of a 12.3-inch instrument cluster behind the steering wheel 

along with a 14.9-inch infotainment screen, which appears to be made up of a single piece stretching across the dashboard. 

Available in one configuration, which includes the Executive and Parking Assistance packages, this model comes equipped with Adaptive LED Laser lights, carbon-fiber interior trim, wireless device charging and M Shadowline headlights. 

Power packed! 

When it comes to power for this limited edition, the most successful components have been realized. The BMW M 50 Jahre edition models are all based upon the current generation of the most successful model series in the hoister of BMW M. That means these exclusive automobiles are powered by a 503-hp twin-turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine, an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive. This impressive power is transferred to the rear wheels by way of the 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic, or fully variably distributed to all four wheels using MxDrive technology. 

M TwinPower Turbo technology also results in high-revving characteristics.
